TCS & Taos Youth Basketball Tournament

Hey Parents,

Get ready to slam dunk into the Taos Youth Basketball Tournament 2024 extravaganza! 

But this event isn’t just for basketball enthusiasts; it’s a fundraiser for our entire school community! Thanks to the support from the Friends of Taos Charter School, this  Basketball Tournament means more than games—it’s our golden opportunity to secure funds for classroom supplies and needs, field trips, tutoring and after-school programs, special teacher trainings, and all sorts of fantastic things! But here’s the scoop: we can’t pull it off solo; we need your backing through volunteer time and food donations!

Running from January 13 to mid-March, the tournament will take place on Saturdays at Taos Charter School from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. The league has doubled in size and now has 32 teams and 265 kids. For the first time, we will have separate competitions for Boys and Girls in 3rd through 7th grades. Each week, a different TCS school grade or school group will take the spotlight as hosts. These superstar hosts will be asked to contribute goodies or time. 

And here’s the bonus: all participating groups will grab a percentage of the proceeds to power up their school group or classroom!

So, jot down these dates on your calendars and help out your child’s classroom!

• January 27: Hosted by 1st 

• February 3: Hosted by 2nd grade

• February 10: Hosted by 3rd grade

• February 17: Hosted by 4th Grade

• February 24: Hosted by 5th grade

• March 2: Hosted by 7th grade 

• March 9: Hosted by 8th grade 

• March 16: Hosted by Kindergarten and Governing Council

We’re excited for your involvement in this year’s basketball tournament fundraiser. Keep an eye out for emails asking for concession stand donations or volunteering opportunities in 3-hour slots. Initially, we mostly need your time to help out as Friends of TCS has already purchased many items for January games.Thank you for your continued support!
