TAOS YOUTH FLIGHT RALLY

TAOS YOUTH FLIGHT RALLY SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 19, 2024

Taos area youth ages 8-17 will have a chance to take to the skies on Saturday, October 19, 2024, for the 14th Annual Taos Youth Flight Rally at the Taos Regional Airport.

 The Taos Youth Flight Rally event is brought to you by Local Pilots, McDonald’s of Taos, Rio Grande Balloons, Taos Aviation Services, Taos Fire Department, Taos Pilots Association, Taos Police Department, Taos Regional Airport, and Town of Taos.  This event was created to interest our youth in aviation.  We hope to build one-on-one relationships between our pilots and young people giving new generations a chance to learn more about the possibilities that exist in the world of aviation.

 Pilots will give free airplane rides at the event and will explain more about their airplanes allowing young people to discover how airplanes work and how pilots ensure each flight is conducted in a safe manner.  Pilots volunteer their time, fuel, and aircraft so the flights can be provided free of charge for interested young people.  Flights will begin at approximately 7:30 AM and continue through 11:00 AM. 

 Registration forms need to be picked up, completed, and returned to the Taos Youth & Family Center located at 407 Paseo del Canon East by Monday, October 7, 2024. 

 A drawing will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.  Seventy (70) participants selected at random will be contacted on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, to schedule a flight time.

 All youth must be pre-registered and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  This event is weather permitting and depends on pilot availability.
