Attendance

Student attendance has a large impact on student success. At TCS, we plan for every student every day, and expect good attendance. Our attendance policy outlines our compliance with the state law regarding attendance. If you are unable to plan trips during our scheduled breaks, please review our extended leave policy, complete an Extended Learning Experience Form, and bring it into the office at least two weeks in advance. Also, contact your child’s teacher in order to determine what they will miss and how they will make up their assignments.

Please do not plan to be absent or take a trip in April due to required standardized testing.

If your child is absent, please call and leave a message on our attendance line at 575-751-7222 ext. 2. You must report the absence in order for it to be excused. Please bring in a doctor’s note if your child is absent for three days or more. You may wish to consult our guidelines for when to keep a sick child at home.

If your student is tardy, please bring them to the office to sign in. Teachers will not admit a student without a tardy slip.  There are no excused tardies and 3 tardies are the equivalent of one absence.

Please consult the Parent Student Handbook 1718 for more information on attendance.
