Jeremy’s love of teaching began at age 14 when he began teaching a children’s choir. After he graduated high school, he joined the U.S. Army, and served as a Combat Medic before entering college. After earning a degree in History and Molecular Biology from the University of Arizona, he moved to Taos in 2001 where he began teaching 5th Grade at the Taos Municipal Charter School.
It was at TCS that he developed an appreciation for project based teaching and learning and enjoyed working with his students to create meaningful and authentic learning experiences… teaching by doing. Through these experiences, the intent is that students not only learn new academic material, but also gain a love and independence for learning that lasts a lifetime.
In 2009, he earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and is thrilled to have the opportunity to take on the challenge of being the director of the Taos Charter School.
