On Your Mark, Get Set, READ! 2016 Summer Reading Program

On Your Mark, Get Set, Read,  is this year’s summer reading program theme June 10 – July 29th.  Open to ages 2- 5 and students entering grades 1 – 6.

Registration will begin June 10th  with one free book per child and one free sports bag.

Books read for the contest must be from Taos Public Library or the Children’s Library collection.

Children registered for the contest must select books near their age, grade level. Exception for those with reading, physical, or learning disability.

For every reading log turned in, the child will be entered in the drawing to win the Grand Prize, One Boy and One Girl Bike for ages 2- 5 as well as One Boy and One Girl Bike for grades 1 – 6.  A total of 4 bikes!

All book logs must be turned in by Monday, July 25th at 5:00 p.m.


Crafts will be held Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. See attached schedule.

Forest Service Puppet show , Friday, July 1, 2016 @ 11:00 am.

Zoo to You will be at the Library, July 22, 2016

10:00 – 12:00 & 1:00 – 3:00.

See exotic animals including birds, reptiles, amphibians & small mammals. You can also touch many biofacts,

such as animal bones, pelts and hides, feathers and other interesting animal items.

Sponsored by The New Mexico BioPark Society.

Attend the end of the summer ice-cream party Friday, July 29th where winners and awards will be announced @ 3:00 pm. Summer Reading Program must be completed to be eligible in the drawing.

Must be present to win the GRAND PRIZE.  Sponsored by The Friends of the Library, The Farmhouse Café and Taos Rotary Club.
