Kindergarten News 2015-2016
Friday Folders go home today; here are the things to look for:
The March snack schedule is attached and a hard copy is in the folders. In math this week we worked on tally marks and counting by 5’s, and measurement. I’m sending home homework that has to do with tally marks.
I hope you enjoy the books that are coming home with your child. One of best parts about being a teacher is watching the growth that students make as the school year progresses. Kindergarten is especially fascinating that way because oftentimes students start the year and are barely able to write their names. At this point in the year they are writing complete sentences and short stories. It is incredibly rewarding to watch the learning process in your children.
If you have friends or family members with children who will enter kindergarten in the fall, please encourage them to come to Kinder Night on Wednesday, March 2, at 5:30 at the Taos Charter School Gymnasium. Kindergarten teachers from all of the various programs in town will be present.
Thank you for all of your help with the basketball tournament. I believe volunteers are still needed through the weekend if you would like to help out.
Night of 1000 Stars is taking place at the TCA this weekend. My family and I have tickets for Saturday night. If you have not attended one of the shows before I encourage you to do so. It is such a wonderful display of Taos youth talent.
