Friday Folders go home today; here are the things to look for:
Lexia- Has your child talked to you about Lexia? Lexia is an online reading program we use at school as part of our weekly literacy centers. Students may also access the program at home. Many students have expressed an interest in doing so. I’m sending home directions for how to log on from a computer or tablet.
We’ve moved on to our 4th math unit. We continue to work on patterns and have returned to geometry. I’m sending home two homework activities from unit 4, as well as another “math at home” book.
We have also completed another theme in our reading curriculum. Our next unit is Weather. This will be a great opportunity to integrate some science into our studies.
Kindergarten and first grade will have a 100 days of school celebration on Friday, February 5th. I will be in touch with more specific details about this event.
Thank you for your continued snack donations! We could use come plastic spoons to have on hand in the classroom. Please let me know if you’re willing to donate.
Please have all Scholastic book orders turned in by Jan. 22nd.
This week I conducted the second of three DIBELS assessments. This is what our school uses for short cycle assessments to measure reading progress in lower grades. I will share the results with you as soon as I have them printed. All of the students made great progress. Please congratulate your child on all of their hard work.
Enjoy the long weekend!
