Students continue to do remarkable for the start of the school year. We have been practicing many routines to make our days flow smoothly. The class developed a Charter, or a list of rules that we all agreed to abide by. Having rules helps us all know what is expected of us while we are at school.
Homework for the week is as follows: Reading log – it went home today and is due back on Tuesday, September 8th. There is no school on Monday in observance of Labor Day. Both spelling and grammar homework are due on Thursday, September 3rd. A spelling list of this week’s sight words is attached. Students should complete the Spelling tic-tac-toe. They need to choose 3 of the boxes – they do not have to be in a row as stated at the bottom of the sheet. There is also a grammar packet on complete sentences that should be completed by Thursday as well.
In addition, I have attached a math fact practice sheet and two sheets on reviewing coins. Students do not need to start this until Thursday and it is due back on Tuesday, September 8th due to the holiday. Normally math is always due back on Monday. Students can begin it right away if they choose, but it does not have to be started before Thursday.
I hope your child is adjusting to 2nd grade. If there is anything I can do to assist in the transition, please let me know.
Back to School night is scheduled for Wednesday, September 16th from 5:00-7:00. Please make every attempt to be here. I cover important information that will be beneficial to all.
