October 28th Parent Letter and Spelling Words

October 28, 2011

Dear Parents,

I cannot believe the month of October has gone by so fast. First off I would like to let you know we will be having our Halloween parade on Monday, October 31 at 1:45. If your child would like to dress up please have them bring their costume in their backpack and we will have them put it on before the parade. Per school rules please make sure you do not fully paint your child’s face. We will be having an afternoon party with an activity planned afterward. If you would like to bring treats/goody bags for the class please make sure you bring 24 for each student. I apologize for short notice, but if parents would like to volunteer to bring a cups, plates, snack, juice, or fruit that would be great. Please email me lflores@taoscharterschool.org to let me know if you will be brining items for the party.

The trip to the SEED museum and farm was a success. All the kids seemed to enjoy viewing all of the art and hearing about farms and green houses. The mobile montanza was an added bonus. All the students had great questions and all the representatives of the SEEDS museum and the farm had great answers.

Next week we will be working on lesson 9 in our Story Town books. The name of the story is, Click, Clack, Moo Cows That Type and also Rock-a-Bye Cows. We will be working on the long o vowel spelled oa and ow. We will continue working on compound words and start talking about expression when reading a story. This story is a lot of fun to read and is full of expression. It would be great to have your child see you read the story first using different expressions and then have them try to do the same.

Thank you so much for all your support,

Ms. Flores

P.S. Our Dia de los Muertos wall looks great! Thank you everyone to everyone who has participated!
